Is Sony a Hacker's new Best Freiend

Sony is Exposing user to security risk in the name of anti piracy

One Sony anti-piracy scheme involves tricking you into installing anti-piracy software on to your PC. Once the software is installed the only those with knowledge of the inner workings of the operating System will be able to remove it without reformatting the unit. I don’t have a problem with anyone trying to protect their property but don’t expose my computer to hackers.

The software that Sony puts on your PC is a common hacker tool called a rootkit. The rootkit hides from your OS utilities and all but the most specialized scanners. A hacker can then use the rootkit to take control of your PC.

Find out if there are rootkits on your unit
