Mohamed ElBaradei survives Bolton and wins Nobel Peace Prize

In what is seen by some as a message to the Bush Regime the Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to Mohamed ElBaradei and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) the Egyptian born ElBaradei has been under attack by the Bush Regime since his refusal to back their assertion that Iraq had resumed it’s bid to develop a nuclear weapon. Mr. Bush and his cronies i.e. John Bolton attempted to force Mohamed ElBaradei, to resign. And when Mr. ElBaradei refused, Bolton pressured the IAEA Board of Governors to deny ElBaradei a third term.

On May 6, 2005, in an interview with the staff of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Lawrence Wilkerson, the chief of staff to former Secretary of State Colin Powell, reportedly charged that "Mr. Bolton had made moves to try to keep Mohamed ElBaradei from being re-appointed as IAEA head."

The Bush Regime had gone out of his way to badmouth him, to make sure that everybody knew that the maximum power of the United States would be brought to bear against them if he were reinstated. According to the Washington Post, the US also halted all intelligence-sharing with the IAEA, and allegedly bugged ElBaradei, hoping to obtain information that could be used against him.

Soon after this Bolton was nominated by Bush to be US ambassador to the UN
