William Bennett may not be a racist BUT!

Nothing illustrates why the Republican Party cannot attract more Black voters than Bill Bennett’s irresponsible verbalization of a brain fart. And the defense of him by so many conservative talking heads this week “I do know that it's true that if you wanted to reduce crime, you could, if that were your sole purpose, you could abort every black baby in this country and your crime rate would go down...that would be an impossible, ridiculous and morally reprehensible thing to do, but your crime rate would go down. So these far-out, these far-reaching, extensive extrapolations are, I think, tricky.”

One would expect Rush and the Limbites to rush to Bennett’s defense citing the criticism of Bennett’s statement as just another example political correctness.

However I find it incredible that Britt Hume and William Kristol can, weekly dissect any argument presenting a viewpoint they disagree on, but neither of them can see that what was wrong with Bennett’s little rant is simple. The high crime rate is not a product of blackness. However there is a direct link to crime and any disenfranchised group.

This man Bennett was once Secretary of Education (1985-1988), and President Bush's "drug czar" (1989-1990) two jobs that greatly affect the wellbeing and future of millions of Americans, many of whom are young, black, and poor. While I agree with anyone who says that blacks as a whole need to take ownership of the widespread cultural issues that plague the black community, when a man who was in charge of educating our children feels that (No matter how you look at it the man was talking about genocide) black children are the problem.

This is faulty science at best. Economics as does nature abhors a vacuum. Let’s go back to the Axe Wielding Maniac’s first law of Economics “In order to feel that you are rich, you must know that there are poor people and you must have at least moderate contact with them. As an example of how an environment steeped in can effect a population. I offer Japan’s estimated three million Buraku people live in isolated neighborhoods, have fewer job opportunities, and poorer health and living conditions than the rest of the population. The Burakumin minority is indistinguishable by "racial" characteristics, or by religion, from other Japanese. Like the dalits or 'untouchables' of India, the Buraku are defined by their descent, by poverty and by the work they do. Difficult to single out from non-Buraku, they nonetheless face an invisible wall of discrimination held in place by blacklists, hearsay and private detectives. But if I am wrong and Mr. Bennett is right then I submit that the opposite would hold true and that the abortion of all white babies in America would be a remedy for our crime issues. Even though I strongly condemn such an action as morally reprehensible
